Eleitores de Itatiaia, no Rio de Janeiro, e Murici dos Portelas, no Piauí, retornam às urnas amanhã (13) para escolher novos prefeitos e vice-prefeitos, em eleições suplementares. Novos pleitos foram convocados nos dois municípios devido à cassação dos mandatos dos eleitos nas eleições municipais de 2020.
As votações nos dois locais serão realizadas das 7h às 17h. E os eleitos nesses pleitos suplementares ficarão no cargo até 31 de dezembro de 2024.
Itatiaia
Em Itatiaia, cinco candidatos disputam a eleição: Bruno Guimarães Diniz (Solidariedade), Adalberto Bisol (PDT), Irineu Nogueira (PTB), Fabíola Rodrigues (PSOL) e Silvano Rodrigues da Silva (PSC).
O prefeito eleito em 2020, Eduardo Guedes, venceu as eleições de 2020, mas não pôde assumir, porque o Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) julgou que ele estaria exercendo um terceiro mandato consecutivo. Desde então, a cidade está sendo governada pelo presidente da Câmara Municipal. Atualmente, o prefeito interino é o vereador Thiago Rodrigues Moreira.
Murici
Em Murici dos Portelas, duas candidatas disputam a prefeitura: Auridea Santos Portela (PTB) e Francisca das Chagas Correia de Souza (PSD). Auridea Portela disputará na condição de subjudice, uma vez que teve a candidatura indeferida pela Justiça Eleitoral e aguarda julgamento de recurso.
A prefeita eleita em 2020, Ana Lina de Carvalho Cunha Sales, teve o mandado cassado pelo TSE porque, ela ainda era casada com o prefeito Ricardo Sales durante gestão dele de 2016 a 2020. A prefeitura vem sendo exercida interinamente desde novembro do ano passado pelo presidente da Câmara Municipal, Raimundo Mutuca (PSD).
